FAQ

WHAT DOES RAPLAPLA MEAN?

It means FLOPPY (like a floppy plush that has received a lot of love), SOFT (like a very comfortable soft toy), ALL FLAT (like a toy designed by a girl who does not know draw).

It could also mean TIRED, or DEPRESSED (but not in our case).

BUT WHY RAPLAPLA?

Because it's fun to say.

ARE RAPLAPLAS MAGIC?

If he is the Chosen One for your child, your raplapla will become magical. It's very useful. Here is the kind of superpowers he could possess: stop the pain of a booboo in its tracks, console all kinds of sadness, and most of all instantly put its owner to sleep. (This will more than make up for its two main potential flaws: its smell and its tendency to get lost).
Be careful, the washing machine can alter its powers.

ARE RAPLAPLAS ORGANIC?

Use organic cotton for our doll for newborns, it was obvious. The doll is intended for a tiny baby who still doesn't know much about the world, and one of the first things he'll do is put it in his mouth! Organic cotton is the best option, for him and of course for the planet as well. As much as possible, our organic fabrics are made locally. But we also use regular cottons at raplapla, or synthetic materials, depending on our projects. We always keep in mind our concern for quality, and we are constantly seeking to improve ourselves. We carefully select our suppliers, and all our production is local, as much for the manufacture of our dolls and soft toys as for our packaging.
We do not use recycled fabrics, only new materials.

WHAT ARE THE RAPLAPLAS FILLED WITH?

With polyester filling. We chose this fill because it's resilient, hypoallergenic and very easy to care for (although it doesn't like the dryer).
On request, we can fill your plush with wool (a slight surcharge will apply, and you will then need to hand wash it).
We are currently testing a milkweed stuffing. Very exciting, but not yet up to the task :(

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A RAPLAPLA?

Difficult to answer precisely! It certainly takes several hours to make a doll or a soft toy. First of all you have to buy the fabric, the thread and the fill. Then with our patterns and armed with large scissors (sometimes even an electric knife), we trace and cut each piece necessary for the production. It's always longer than you think. Finally, we go to the sewing machine! We assemble all the pieces together. Then we turn our friend inside out and stuff him. That too is always longer than it seems. After closing the last seam, we clean it, we inspect it, and we pack it! It's then ready to choose a child to adopt.
And don't forget, if it only takes us a few hours to make a doll, it's that we've been practicing it for over 10 years!
